More embossing

I attempted to make a 3d stamp to emboss in the print room using the wheel with raised letters on card, however I don't think the letters were raised enough in order to produce a deep enough emboss.

I've been trying out more variations of my logo as using the whole two words "1st class" is proving to be too long and difficult to get accurate when cutting out. I am contemplating screen printing the 'class' underneath the 'st' or leaving it as just "1st" because I do quite like the look of it and it fits a lot easier onto each net

I can't make a good logo.
I need my logo to be simplistic, minimal lettering and I want it to include 1st. 


I am unsure whether I should simplify it down to 1C to stand for 1st class but then again I want to include 1st to have the sense of importance.

This looks bad on screen but when I embossed it previously I liked the effect of having the corners around the lettering, I'll try embossing this with and without

The C looks like a moon because the serif hasn't embossed well, it is really difficult to cut out neat letters on such a small scale.


I want to stick with the design I tried out but was too big and somehow make it a scale that will work, I like this design best and I like the fact it has resemblance of a stamp.

I have decreased the kerning so that the space between the letters, where it needed to be, is less, in order to make my logo smaller. I have also moved in the four corners but I'm not sure if I want to use them, although I did like the way they turned out when I embossed them.

So after I tried embossing some of my ideas, I realised that the one I wanted to use was too wide and therefore wouldn't fit onto some of my nets. The obvious option was to make it smaller, however I am concerned that if I do this then I won't be able to cut them out because they are so small and intricate. 


I drew down a few quick ideas/options of how I could change it so it's thinner

I thought about making the 1 smaller but the thing I liked most about my previous idea is that the 1 was large and was the length of '1st' and 'class' larger than the 'st' like an actual stamp. I've also thought about changing the name to just 1st C, taking away the class or just making it 1st.  
Another option is to decrease the size of the 1 so its the same as the others or place the letters after '1' underneath so it's vertical.

I struggled quite a bit with cutting out letters which include curves like 'S' and 'c' and started to think that I may have to rethink my logo

Managed to cut out an 's' but it looked very rough however when I embossed it it managed to not pick up this rough edge

I then attempted to cut out the whole word class, it wasn't too bad, not too rough but far from perfect

And this is the result, I like this logo with the four corners, one major problem I came across though is that this logo is too large to fit across the face of some of my packages, I want the logo to be quite small and elegant but I'm afraid that if I scale down the logo any more I really won't be able to cut out the letters for the template.

In the logos I've tried out they all use a serif typeface so I'm going to try a san serif because I remember somewhere along the ling making the decision of trying this out as it may be easier to emboss

I much prefer the serif typefaces especially for the context of the logo, however I'm going to print a few out and try embossing some and see what turns out best.

Logo

Uses Cambria typeface, the same typeface that I'm using for the letters on the packaging to spell Soiree. I don't think this is heavy enough, I need the letters to be quite thick in order to emboss well onto the packages.

This uses Perpetua bold and works better because of the bold. This time I have included four corners also to indicate the idea of a stamp. I prefer this design as the 1st and class are enclosed together.

         

      

I think this might look good if I have the border embossed and the letters inside embossed, however I'm concerned that it might look to obvious, too much like a stamp like an obvious design

    

I'm concerned that this may be too wide as a logo since some of my packages are intentionally tall and thin then this might look to cramped on the net where as something more square may be more appropriate

This just doesn't work at all it doesn't read well at all and first thing you read is the 'C'

In order to see what works best I think I will have to emboss a few I think are working best and test to see how they look when embossed and how easy they can be embossed because if letters are too small etc then it's not going to work easily and produce a good result
