 I'm really dissapointed with the way the black foil has turned out on the silver stock but it's too late now to redo them. I would ideally just like to go with my initial idea and use all black stock.

 I foil blocked my nets, turns out the black worked best however unfortuntaely I'd already made the decision to use alternative colours, black and silver. Obviosuly I should have tried the silver out earlier but it was a last minute find and I just really wanted to use it

 My embossed logo on the triangular boxes, I like the embossing on the silver stock it's more prominent, shame the foiling doesn't work so well. Going to have to just photoshop it for my magazine page etc to improve the quality.

 Quick mock up of a drink label, I'd like to use a long label like this so there is a lot of black covering the glass.

Foil Blocking

After looking into foiling on my design context here, I have been inspired to create my own for my products

Originally I was set on using silver but after seeing the range available I am keen to try out the champagne and pewter.

Our screen with designs on in which we glued, then left to dry completely to foil later

The glue 

Some didn't work so successfully with the glue because it dried pretty quickly but these below worked well, just need to put the foil ontop

I really like the black on black, I was initially worried that it looked like a bin bag but when I put it under the heat press it turned out really nice. I think it portrays the look that I want, kind of sophisticated however, I also really like the pewter which is kind of a pearly silver, much nicer than standard silver which actually looked a bit tacky. 

Some of them were a bit patchy because the glue didn't take to parts of the stock but for the final design I would ensure I did everything properly.

Whilst in the print room I also asked about screen printing colours like metallics and fortunately they have a gold, silver, bronze and pearly silver so I would like to possibly try this out for the descriptions.

I've placed the letters as they will appear on each box so hopefully it won't be too hard to work out the spacing et when it comes to the foil blocking

Foil block idea

Just quickly used some thick paper to make up this net with tin foil behind the P just to show my idea for the foil blocked letters for my final design.
In the print room there is a variety of foil colours, initially I wanted to use a silver foil as it would emphasis the luxury and quality that I want the range to portray however there are other shades like white and copper which I think could work just as well.

Packaging-Embossing/foil blocking- ideas

Ideas-

• Foil block the large letters with a small embossed brand name centred towards the top of each package
• No actual print onto the boxes just print techniques, however for small writing this may be difficult
• Party is just for design, should probably think of a better word although the range is for 'party food'
