I worked out spacing and size of the letters across the three boxes and printed them off on paper to try them out.

The H didn't totally work because the bottom came apart from the rest of the stock because this particular box doesn't have a bottom. However I figured that as I am going to placing a different colour stock behind the letter then the piece that seperates itself can be attached to that.

Wrap it up- nets

I decided to use a typeface instead of attempting the pen tool to create more precise and accurate lines and edges. I want to the package to look very professional and step up my crafting from last year so the more I help myself with net the the better.

It took my a while to come up with the best composition of the letters, taking some across onto two nets etc. These nets are the final designs I went with.

Wrap it up- development

So I have attepemted to take my nets onto illustrator,something I'm not comfatable with and something I should maybe not be trying for such a shoort brief but I have to start sometime.



I tried out using the pen-tool to create the letterforms but have found it quite difficult to take them across to different nets, splitting the letters up. I have also tried it using type boxes. I want to use a serif typeface because I believe for this it looks more elegant and classic. I am having some trouble with the spacing between letters and getting them to work across the three boxes.

 I firstly looked at just using type onthe boxes, indivuidually and also working across the three boxes to spell out the word. I prefer this idea, I would like them to work as a set. 

 I then looked at using image, I don't really have a strong image  but I tried out a champaigne bottle to se ehow that would work, I found it quite hard to decide on a image that would represent 'posh'. I contemplated the ideas of using a photo which would have to be tinted or a cut out silhouette style. Also looked at using type and image on the boxes again working across the three boxes.

posh was my initial word, however I think it's obvious what would be done with the packages, I want to make something more inventive and do something creative with the box.

This is just an exampe, but as the limitations are two colours plus stock, I made this a duotone image using a pink and yellow.

I'm thinking of changing my word, I know it's supposed to be a quick decision and a summary, but I want it tobe a word that I can do a lot with. I'm going to look at adjectives as a describing word has more visual and imagery.
