Sandwich boxes

I'm really dissapointed with the way the black foil has turned out on the silver stock but it's too late now to redo them. I would ideally just like to go with my initial idea and use all black stock.

New nets- alterations

I changed the last two nets as the word didn't read right. I've altered the two 'E's on the last two nets so they are closer together and now it reads much better

Nearly there

When I assembled the nets it was obvious that on the last two boxes I hadn't arranged the letters correctly resulting in the spacing being wrong it not looking right

So I have altered them again on illustrator

Nets

As you can see when I have assembled the nets, I have made an error when placing the letters on the last box, the last 'E' needs to work across the last two boxes instead of sitting at the end of the last box.  Apart from that I think the rest of it is working and reads well, it will all work better when made from a thicker stock as sits more sturdily.

Nets- illustrator

I tried out changing the arrangement of nets and starting the first letter 'S' further along the nets to hopefully make the word fit across them all

Net 1

 Net 2
 Net 3
 Net 4
 Net 5
 Net 6
This arrangement seems to work much better so I'm going to print them out and make them and see how they work as a set

Nets

So after having some issue on illustrator of stretching the word SOIREE across my six nets I had a couple of options:

  • switch the last two nets so the thin one is second last
  • increase the tracking between letters
  • Move all letters along

Nets-illustrator

I have overlain the nets on illustrator one by one so I can match up where one letter overlaps onto another net and how to space the letters evenly.

With the spacing that I've used across the nets it won't stretch across all 6 just 5. Unless I increase the tracking between letters but it's not going to read well if I do that. So I can either re-arrange them or leave out one net but I want to stick with my original idea of having 6 in the range as ranges I looked at included about 6 or 7 products.

Something else quite important that has come to my attention is the accent on the first E and whether or not it is appropriate to put in and whether or not it is appropriate with the uppercase letters.

Also realised that the 3rd net isn't how it should be because the R isn't on the right face of the net. Going to have to make some alterations

Sandwich boxes- mistake

So in my design I drew out I thought it would be easy to split the word across two faces of the net and split the letters by cutting them.
When I came to split the R of the word SOIREE it proved pretty difficult. I printed it out and made it up and tried to draw how it would work by hand but I came to the conclusion that with the shape of the sides being triangular it isn't possible. And this below is what it would look like if it was to be split up

So now I think I am going to have to take the easy way out and use three letters on each of the two faces which I didn't want to do because I want it to be obvious that the word is continuos by splitting up one of the letters on two faces.

Nets- mini mock ups

Line up and arrangement of the boxes

Very bad quality but quick mock up of the arrangement
When made little models not sure that 2nd box works , I don't know if I like the curve, it's the only curve within the range and it kind of looks like a treasure chest. Think it looks odd?
Possibly use other box I used for wrap it up, the 2nd box in that range

There will be three triangular nets within the range, here's just one for now

The 2nd last boxes are way too small in comparison to the other models, hopefully when made bigger they will look taller and more appropriate within the range of packages.

I'm also thinking of creating a drinks holder for bottles as I want to create labels for bottles.
